Empowering clinical pharmacists to manage asthma effectively and improve outcomes for patients

Our interactive workshops will combine expert speakers and sharing of best practice by our clinical pharmacist facilitators who are conducting Asthma related services in their own practices.

These meetings have been fully funded by Napp Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

The workshop will focus on ‘insight’ in the morning and on ‘implementation’ the afternoon. The day has been structured to allow plenty of networking time and activities.

Morning (09:30 - 13:00)
Their engaging presentations will cover:

Why practice pharmacists are critical in the management of asthma

A clinical update on understanding the effectiveness of asthma management

What are the practical problems in responsible asthma prescribing and inhaler techniques when managing asthma in general practice?

Top tips and advice from a pharmacist perspective on patient types, ACT scoring and counselling

Afternoon (14:00 - 17:00)

Smaller workshops facilitated by fellow practice pharmacist who are already supporting the effective management of asthma

The interactive sessions will cover:

Familiarisation with the use of practical tools and templates for practice pharmacists including clinical systems resources

Case studies on helping practice pharmacists to manage change and effectively implement asthma clinics including inhaler techniques

Action planning on how you will implement back in your practice
