The i2i Network is delighted to be building on our on-demand stoma programme designed for GP Clinical Pharmacists and medicines optimisation teams.

Stoma management is an area where GP Clinical Pharmacists may not feel confident but can add immense value to patient care. This is also a therapy area of interest to medicines optimisation teams wanting to understand more about the stoma market and gain access to tools to help manage stoma spend.

The intended audience is GP clinical pharmacists and medicines optimisation teams. Other healthcare professionals such as stoma nurses may attend if they are employed and funded by the NHS.

Jill Kettle

Jill qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1982 and pursued a career in Operating Theatre nursing before becoming a Theatre Manager. She has had many roles; Matron of an Independent Hospital, General Manager roles in Theatres, Specialist Medicine, Women’s & Children’s, Surgery & Renal, Workforce Planning, Project Manager for Transformation roles, before her current role as Senior Clinical Products & Services Manager at East of England NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub.

  • Identify where primary care pharmacists can add the most value in improving stoma management as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach
  • Explore potential implementation challenges in stoma management at CCG level, PCN level and GP practice level
  • Consider a health economy change scenario and Clinical Pharmacist structured medication review (SMR) relating to stoma
