Ewan Maule is Clinical Director for medicines and pharmacy at the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) NHS Integrated Care Board. He leads the Healthy Weight and Treating Obesity workstream for the region and is co-chair of the NENC prevention board which, as well as healthy weight, includes tobacco and alcohol.
Ewan is also a senior pharmaceutical advisor to NHS England, North East and Yorkshire region.
Since qualifying as a pharmacist in 2002, Ewan has worked in a number of NHS Foundation Trusts, including clinical prescribing roles in emergency and critical care. Ewan has also been a deputy chief pharmacist with responsibility for operational services in a large mental health and learning disabilities trust.
He is also an honorary Professor at Teesside University, and an elected member of the English Pharmacy Board at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. He has masters degrees in prescribing sciences (from University of Sunderland) and healthcare management (from Newcastle University)
