Alex is a Clinical Pharmacist specialising in rheumatology and critical care. Since specialising in rheumatology in 2023, she has credentialled as a pharmacist independent prescriber and leads an advanced therapy outpatient clinic. Alex has a strong interest in supporting patients to make informed decisions about their treatment, with a particular focus on improving medication adherence through high-quality information. She has also led a pioneering Rheumatology Biologics Passport QI initiative that has strengthened safety, consistency, and governance of advanced therapy prescribing and is now being adopted in dermatology within NHS Borders – as well as being seen as best practice in other regions . Alex is a member of the Scottish Rheumatology Pharmacist Network and collaborates with colleagues to support Once for Scotland policies that promote high-quality, equitable care for patients across Scotland.
