Hazel’s focus is on developing research capability and capacity in pharmacy; she has written the South Yorkshire (SY) Pharmacy Research Strategy and established and co-chairs the SY Pharmacy Research Group. Her research interests centre on the scope of consultant pharmacist practice and the nature and extent of their research activity.
She has a strong track record in securing external funding to support workforce development, including jointly securing funding through the NIHR Undergraduate Internship Programme for three consecutive years. Through her work in strategic healthcare roles, Hazel is actively involved in advancing consultant pharmacist practice at both system and ICS level.
Hazel is also a Principal Investigator on a pharmacy-led study and works as a haematology pharmacist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where she developed a research awareness and development programme to showcase colleagues’ projects and strengthen research engagement across the department.
