Saman Batool is a Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescriber at Wakefield North PCN with a specialist interest in medicines optimisation and improving outcomes for people living with complex long-term conditions. She is passionate about delivering safe, evidence-based care and supporting the appropriate use of medicines across primary care. Saman’s work promotes safe deprescribing, helping to minimise inappropriate polypharmacy through practical patient-centred approaches.
As a member of the 2025 CRM Clinical Champions cohort, Saman led a quality improvement project focused on reducing anticholinergic burden in older adults. At the conference, she will share her work on safe deprescribing, optimising prescribing practices, and identifying safer therapeutic alternatives to improve patient care.
