Adrian Zacher

Adrian Zacher is a sleep health researcher and CEO of the British Society of Pharmacy Sleep Services (BSPSS), the UK charity dedicated to improving sleep care through community pharmacy. Drawing on more than 30 years in the sleep field, Adrian works with universities, Local Pharmaceutical Committees and national organisations to close the gap between evidence and practice in the management of insomnia and obstructive sleep apnoea.

He is currently undertaking a PhD at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, examining clinical decision-making regarding sleep disorders in community pharmacy, with a focus on guideline adherence and the real-world pressures that shape pharmacists’ choices. His national AWAKE Check research study is quantifying the prevalence and risk of insomnia and sleep apnoea in the UK public using validated measures, creating the first dataset of its kind led from pharmacy.
