She has championed the development of innovative patient centred care medicines optimisation models with extended roles for clinical pharmacists within community integrated care teams (incl. care homes, rapid response, re-ablement, virtual ward, Community MDTs and case management). These models have focused on active engagement with older people (carers), developing personalised solutions to improve adherence, better care co-ordination at handover points and improving medicines use in social care. Her leadership role within NHS Specialist Pharmacy Services involves facilitating the delivery of local and national medicines optimisation imperatives by encouraging a ‘do once and share’ approach and shaping the development of local ‘health community clinical pharmacy teams’.
