Dr Syed Gillani

Syed works in a hybrid innovative specialist care/primary care posting within an academic framework at New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton. He has a passion to develop a patient-centric, evidence-based, risk stratified and ultimately, a data driven model of care delivery in NHS for the people with diabetes and is currently working to develop a new model of care in Diabetes called the WICKED Project; demonstrating that it is beneficial to the users and realistic in a healthy economy without requiring many extra resources.

As a Clinical Champion, Syed has a plan to re-establish an effective local diabetes network in Wolverhampton with an ambition to expand it to the neighbouring health economies. He wants to empower every person with newly diagnosed diabetes by providing them with individualised learning pathway tailored according to the individual’s learning needs
